Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website or use a web-based application. SENSORAP uses cookies and similar tracking technologies — including pixel tags, local storage, and session identifiers — to ensure our platform functions correctly, understand how users interact with the Services, maintain authenticated sessions, and continuously improve the user experience.

By continuing to use the SENSORAP platform, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by adjusting your browser settings or using the in-platform preference controls where available, though doing so may affect the availability and functionality of certain platform features.

2. Essential / Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the SENSORAP platform to function and cannot be disabled in our systems. They are set in direct response to actions you take — such as logging in, accessing a dashboard, adjusting security settings, or submitting a form. Without these cookies, core Services including authentication, session management, and secure API communication cannot be provided.

  • Session Tokens: Authenticate your identity and maintain your login session across platform pages and API requests.
  • Security Cookies (CSRF): Protect against cross-site request forgery attacks by validating form submissions and state-changing API calls.
  • Load Balancer Cookies: Ensure your requests are consistently routed to the correct backend server instance for stable session continuity.
  • Consent State Cookies: Remember your cookie and privacy preference selections so you are not asked repeatedly.

3. Analytics and Performance Cookies

These cookies allow SENSORAP to measure platform usage, monitor service performance, and understand how users navigate through the application. The data collected is aggregated and anonymized — it does not identify you personally. This information is used exclusively to improve platform reliability, prioritize feature development, and diagnose technical issues.

  • Page View Tracking: Records which platform sections and dashboard views are most frequently accessed to inform UX improvements.
  • Error Monitoring: Captures client-side JavaScript errors and performance bottlenecks to support engineering diagnostics.
  • Feature Usage Analytics: Measures engagement with specific platform capabilities (alert configuration, workflow builder, asset profiles) to guide product decisions.
  • Session Duration: Tracks active session length to understand typical usage patterns and optimize platform responsiveness.

4. Functional / Preference Cookies

Functional cookies enable the SENSORAP platform to remember choices you have made and provide a more personalized and efficient experience. These cookies are not strictly necessary for the platform to operate, but significantly enhance usability for returning users.

  • Dashboard Layout Preferences: Remembers your custom widget arrangements, column configurations, and data visualization settings across sessions.
  • Timezone and Locale Settings: Stores your preferred timezone so that sensor timestamps and event timelines are displayed in your local time zone automatically.
  • Alert Notification Preferences: Remembers your selected notification delivery channels (email, SMS, webhook) and severity thresholds.
  • Theme Preferences: Preserves your selected platform display mode (dark/light) across sessions.

5. Third-Party and Integration Cookies

Where SENSORAP integrates with third-party services — such as payment processors, support chat tools, or identity providers — those third parties may set their own cookies in accordance with their respective cookie and privacy policies. SENSORAP does not control third-party cookies and is not responsible for the data practices of third-party services.

  • Payment Provider Cookies: Set by our payment processing partner to secure payment transactions and prevent fraud.
  • SSO/Identity Provider Cookies: Set by your organization's identity provider (e.g., Okta, Azure AD) when using Single Sign-On authentication.
  • Support Tool Cookies: May be set by our customer support platform to maintain support session context.

6. Cookie Retention Periods

The duration for which a cookie remains on your device depends on its type and purpose:

  • Session Cookies: Temporary cookies that exist only during your active browser session. Automatically deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent Cookies: Remain on your device for a set period (typically 30 days to 12 months) or until you manually delete them. Used for preference retention and analytics.
  • Third-Party Cookies: Retention periods are determined by the respective third party and are governed by their policies.

7. Managing and Controlling Cookies

You have several options to control or limit how cookies are used when you interact with the SENSORAP platform:

  • Browser Settings: All modern browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies through their privacy or settings menus. Consult your browser's help documentation for instructions specific to your browser version.
  • Platform Preference Center: Where available within the SENSORAP interface, you can manage non-essential cookie categories through the in-platform privacy preference panel.
  • Opt-Out of Analytics: You can opt out of analytics tracking by disabling analytics cookies in your browser or using browser extensions such as Privacy Badger or uBlock Origin.

Please note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the SENSORAP platform. Disabling functional cookies may cause your preferences and customizations not to be saved between sessions.

8. Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals websites not to track your browsing activity. Currently, there is no universally agreed-upon standard for how platforms should respond to DNT signals. SENSORAP does not alter its data collection practices in response to DNT browser signals at this time. However, we fully respect your right to opt out of non-essential cookies through the methods described in Section 7 above.

9. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in the technologies we use, the Services we provide, or applicable legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
