Acceptable Use Policy

Last Updated: January 2026

1. Overview and Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the acceptable, intended, and strictly prohibited uses of the SENSORAP platform, web application, API services, ingestion gateways, and all associated infrastructure (collectively, the "Services"). This policy is designed to protect the integrity, reliability, and security of the platform for all tenants.

By accessing or using the Services, you and your organization agree to comply unequivocally with this AUP. This policy applies to all users, administrators, operators, and automated systems or scripts interacting with the platform under your account. SENSORAP reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time to respond to emerging threats or changing regulatory environments.

2. Prohibited Platform Usage

You agree not to use, or facilitate or allow others to use, the SENSORAP platform in any manner that:

  • Violates any applicable local, national, or international law, regulation, or industry-specific compliance mandate.
  • Infringes upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or proprietary rights of SENSORAP or any third party.
  • Involves the transmission of material that is defamatory, abusive, harassing, tortious, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Attempts to bypass, exploit, disable, or tamper with any security mechanism, authentication protocol, or access control of the platform.
  • Involves reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or extracting the source code, algorithms, or proprietary logic of the SENSORAP software.
  • Facilitates unauthorized access to data, accounts, or systems belonging to other SENSORAP tenants.

3. Infrastructure and Network Abuse

The stability of our multi-tenant infrastructure is critical. The following activities targeting the platform infrastructure are strictly prohibited:

  • Transmitting malicious payloads, viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or corrupted files designed to damage or disrupt platform operations.
  • Executing Denial of Service (DoS) or Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, or purposefully transmitting excessive telemetry data designed to overwhelm our ingestion gateways or databases.
  • Performing unauthorized vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, or load testing against SENSORAP infrastructure without explicit prior written authorization from our Security team.
  • Spoofing device credentials, IP addresses, or MAC addresses to obfuscate the origin of telemetry data or bypass network controls.

4. API and Integration Abuse

Programmatic access to the SENSORAP platform via our REST API or Webhook infrastructure must be conducted responsibly:

  • Customers must strictly adhere to documented rate limits and usage quotas associated with their subscription tier.
  • Automated scripts attempting to abusively poll, scrape, or brute-force API endpoints are prohibited and will result in automatic IP blocking and key revocation.
  • API keys and authentication tokens must be securely stored and must not be committed to public code repositories or shared openly. Compromised keys must be immediately revoked by the Customer.

5. High-Risk Use Cases

Unless explicitly reviewed and approved in writing by SENSORAP under a specific Enterprise agreement, the Services are not designed, intended, or authorized for use in high-risk environments requiring fail-safe performance. Prohibited high-risk use cases include:

  • Direct operation of nuclear facilities, life support systems, or critical public utilities where a platform failure could directly result in death, personal injury, or catastrophic environmental damage.
  • Real-time automated control of heavy machinery or autonomous vehicles without independent hardware-based safety overrides.

6. Enforcement and Remediation

SENSORAP actively monitors platform telemetry and API usage to ensure compliance with this AUP. We reserve the right, but do not assume the obligation, to investigate any suspected violation.

In the event of an AUP violation, SENSORAP may take any or all of the following actions at our sole discretion:

  • Issue a formal warning to the Customer administrator.
  • Temporarily suspend API access or specific account privileges.
  • Quarantine or delete offending data payloads.
  • Immediately suspend or terminate the entire Customer account without prior notice for severe or intentional violations.
  • Report illegal activity to appropriate law enforcement agencies and cooperate fully with any resulting investigations.

7. Contact and Reporting

If you become aware of any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy, either internally within your organization or externally, please report it immediately to our compliance team:
